The Vivify Arquus W73 4K UHD Fiber Optics Light-up Gaming HDMI Cable has been designed for gamers and its main selling point is that it lights up when connected to your console that screams gamer in its appearance! This feature is controlled by a touch sensor that allows you to toggle between 7 different colours or you can select the colour cycle mode.

The features of the Vivify Arquus W73 4K UHD Fiber Optics Light-up Gaming HDMI Cable are as follows;

  • Bandwidth: 18Gbps
  • Length: 9ft 2.7m (reviewed) / 15ft 4.5m
  • Light-up Colour: Yellow / Red / Cyan / Orange / Pink / Green / Blue
  • Support: 4K UHD 60Hz, ARC, HDCP 2.2, HDR 10, RGB 8-bits YCbCr 4:4:4, RGB 12-bits YCbCr 4:2:2, 7.1ch Dolby True HD, DTS-HD MA

Well packed from Vivify with instructions, the first thing that I noticed about the Arquus W73 4K UHD Fiber Optics Light-up Gaming HDMI Cable was the thickness which is quite a slimline product, opposed to the braided thicker HDMI cables. Additionally it feels like a very solid cable and the ends are extremely sturdy and professionally built.

While this cable can be used on next-gen consoles (PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X), this cable won’t produce 120 frame per second as you need a HDMI 2.1 compliant cable which produces a bandwidth of 48Gbps and this cable is 18Gpbs. Another caveat is that you need a TV that can display 120Hz and most TV’s don’t support this feature which means your gaming on next-gen consoles is limited to 60fps which is still impressive. Given that, I tested Vivify Arquus W73 4K UHD Fiber Optics Light-up Gaming HDMI Cable with our Xbox Series X as my TV doesn’t display 120Hz so this makes the cable perfect for my system… and it looks awesome once connected, correctly that is.

Now, the Vivify Arquus W73 4K UHD Fiber Optics Light-up Gaming HDMI Cable does come with instructions and me believing that this was just another HDMI cable in terms of setup, plugged it into my Xbox Series X and TV and there was a red light on the plug with no display on the TV. I tried all three HDMI ports on my TV and again, the red light was displayed on the connection ends. A quick look at the instruction manual and one end of the cable is a display port (TV) that is labelled and the other an input port (console), also labelled and like magic, the red light vanished and was replaced by a very cool blue.

Further, HDMI cables can be a pain for cable management, however with the Vivify Arquus W73 4K UHD Fiber Optics Light-up Gaming HDMI Cable, this is not really an issue as the thickness makes it quite flexible and convenient to position. However where this cable shines is through the light-up colour special effects that really gives your system those gaming aesthetics that are often only experience by PC gamers. Needless to say, perfect video and audio from by Xbox Series X to TV but with some funky colouring.

Final Thoughts?

The Vivify Arquus W73 4K UHD Fiber Optics Light-up Gaming HDMI Cable will transform your video and audio signals into colour and looks fantastic on your console setup!
