VIVIFY’s impedance test estimates the life expectancy of a product by connecting and disconnecting the cable 10,000 times. Performed during the design verification stage of all our cables, the test is done on 15% of the early production samples of each of our products.

In-house designed automated impedance test rig with output to analyzer.

The test analyses the impedance difference before and after the 10,000 connects and disconnects. The standard impedance ratio of a new cable must not exceed 30mΩ, and after the test is done, the difference rate must be less than 30mΩ.

Using the VIVIFY XENOS W30 as an example, we first measure the cable’s impedance. The original value measured on the XENOX W30 is normally between 16.35 and 23.36mΩ. The cable is then loaded in our in-house designed impedance test which runs 10,000 times at an average rate of 100 times per minute. The cable’s impedance is then measured again for the difference in value (usually around 1.09~4.36mΩ), well below the 30mΩ maximum difference.

Impedance value analysis performed after the impedance test.
